A career in two disciplines.
Ryan Jefferson Booth has spent nearly three decades coaching strength in Vancouver, beginning in the mid-90s and refining a body of work that now sits at the intersection of clinical rehab and elite performance. Parallel to that, he's built an on-camera career as an actor — two disciplines that both demand presence, preparation, and the ability to stay ready for the next rep or the next take.
His coaching practice is home to the ILU Method, a two-wave undulating progression system engineered around joint health, longevity, and pain-free strength. It's the same system that rebuilt his own body after cervical spine surgery, and the reason Vancouver physicians refer post-surgical and complex clients into his gym.

The long story.
Ryan Jefferson Booth started coaching in the mid-1990s, back when strength training in Canada was still fighting for legitimacy outside of powerlifting platforms. He came up under the barbell, studied every methodology he could get his hands on, and quietly built a client base of people who wanted more than a workout — they wanted a plan they could still run in twenty years.
Years into that career, a cervical spine surgery forced him to rebuild his own training from scratch. Standard programs didn't work. What did work was a two-wave, undulating progression that loaded him hard enough to grow, then gave his joints and connective tissue enough space to catch up. That system became the ILU Method.
Today it's the framework every one of his clients trains inside of — from post-op patients cleared to lift, to Adults 40+ chasing longevity, to experienced lifters looking for structure without losing intensity. It's also the reason Vancouver physicians trust his gym with complex cases.
Alongside the gym, Ryan has built a parallel career as an actor, working on-camera in Vancouver's film and television industry. Two disciplines, one mindset: show up prepared, control what you can control, and never phone in a rep.
